Brother Sun, Sister Moon

Saint Francis 800 – we are currently celebrating the 800th anniversary of the death of one of the most influential saints. To mark this occasion, a series of celebrations titled "San Francesco – Vive" (Saint Francis Lives) was held in Assisi. As part of the events, the earthly remains of the Saint—previously accessible only to the clergy—were placed on public display for one month. For those who can, the Via di Francesco pilgrimage route (or at least a section of it) is a must for any bucket list. Leading from Assisi to Rome, the trail allows travelers to follow in the footsteps of Saint Francis and visit the key milestones of his life. As Easter approaches, Zeffirelli's "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" remains an essential cinematic experience. While Franz Liszt also composed a piece based on the Canticle of the Sun, the film's famous soundtrack is surely a melody that lingers in everyone's memory.
